Our Hokkien opera performance by renowned Taiwanese troupe Ming Hwa Yuan at the Theatre takes you back to Chinese Opera’s halcyon days of glory when the beloved age-old art form was performed in theatre halls.
Also at the Theatre, the famous Han Tang Yuefu Ensemble brings you their acclaimed work of music theatre, The Feast of Han Xizai, inspired by an ancient Chinese painting that depicts the story of the late Tang bon vivant Han Xizai who gave up his life of luxury and became a wandering musician, told through the sculpted, refined art of Liyuan dance and the soothing notes of Nanyin music.
Soak in the moonlight at our free festive outdoor performances. Popular Chinese evergreens delight audiences of all ages at our vocal concert at the outdoor theatre.
Have fun with delightful lantern riddles at the Waterfront Canopy. Then at the Concourse, be further entertained by witty children’s poetry recitals, Chinese instrumental ensemble music and Cantonese opera songs. And on 14 Sep (Sun), the day of the Mid Autumn Festival itself, take part in our lantern walkabout by the bay!
